COLOR FOR ALL

Valspar is a brand of high-quality paint sold exclusively at Lowe’s. It’s on the higher end compared to other paint brands, so lots of our work celebrated the payoff for Valspar’s endless amount of colors. More than anyone in the market.

Our strategy through the years was Valspar encouraging people to make a “change for the better”. Beyond our commercials and digital ads that unpacked that notion, we stumbled across an opportunity for Valspar—to democratize color for everyone. Even those folks who can’t see color.

We teamed up with a startup called Enchroma. Their ingenious team created eyeglasses that enabled those suffering from colorblindness to see color for the first time. We wondered what might they think of the world of colors unique to Valspar?

As it turned out, they loved it. And so did we. So much so, that we created a film highlighting the emotional stories of real people who have been colorblind since birth. Wearing Enchroma glasses, they could see a full or partial spectrum of colors they’d never seen before. Their testimonials blended the emotional benefit of color and how lucky we all are to witness the positive change colors can bring.
